Currently PennyLea is working on a project for Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame Indiana. Her contribution to the new Spes Unica academic building presently under construction on the campus, will include numerous installation areas of painting, along with the design of a stained glass door and window in the Reflection/Meditation Room within the Spes Unica building.  This project will be complete late fall of 2008.

In early 2009 I will be adding prints of all 64 hexagrams of the I-Ching, along with the eight trigrams that make up the Bagua.

Public Installations

Saint Alphonsus Regional Hospital, Boise, ID 

As part of new construction/major expansion, St. Alphonsus included art that complimented the intention to create conscious spaces of healing.  These pictures reflect four installation areas in the new wing of the hospital that were contributed by Penny. 

 

The Ross Institute Center for Well Being, Easthampton, NY 

 

Penny designed the sequence of yantra that were then installed as pebble mosaic in the supporting wall of the Center for Well Being on the Ross Institute campus.  The mosaic, installed by Italian mosaic artist Elinor Schiele, was executed using local river rock.

"Because of that balance, I couldn’t say what I like best about Penny’s work, or what its strongest points are.  Is it her luscious use of color and complex visual interest?  Or is it what you learn about ancient iconography and native flora and fauna?  Her art embraces the world.  Her art is generous.  Her art is utopian.  Her art comes from very old places and is also beyond modern:  I call it 23rd century.  Her work is a pleasure to look at and to think about.  Unlike most geniuses, however, Penny is a dream to work with.  You can tell her what you imagine, and she’ll give you something you could’ve never imagined.
